Why Save Seeds?

There are lots of reasons to save seeds. Here’s a few:

  • it’s fun
  • it can save money
  • it helps gardeners learn more about the plants they raise
  • it improves local self-reliance
  • it helps preserve the genetic diversity of our food crops
  • it’s the first step on the path to plant-breeding
